Thanksgiving and a sock...

While I was working on dinner, Josie and Daddy were watching the football game...

Here is the table, which sat 13 friends, all somehow connected to JBU and family-less here in CA. It was a blast, and honestly less work that I imagined...

Most evenings I come across the missing sock from earlier in the day. Josie usually plucks one off at some point and then spends the rest of the say one-socked. The other day this happened instead...

Gotta love it.

ketchup...

Here are a few pics from the last week...

I took this one simply because of the awesome color combo... (yes, I'm a huge dork)

And even dorkier, I took this one because of how well the socks matched the bib... (and her diaper, which you cannot see)

But this one I took for the cuteness and rolliness...

a favorite time of day...

Josie and I usually hang out on the big bed for a bit at least once a day. Sometimes its because we are feeling a little cranky or need some down time. A lot of times we play on the bed cause its fun...

daddytime...

Weekends are so wonderful. Tom and Josie love hanging out, even when they get a little sleepy. I ran to the grocery store yesterday afternoon and returned to this...

ah today...

So I slept TERRIBLY last night. It could have been the 2 iced teas I drank during and after dinner, or the 2 hours of TV I watched, or the 1.5 hour nap I took by accident yesterday. Blah. Anyway. So I woke up (barely) this morning with a mission - to recover and to sleep better tonight. So here is what we did today...

We got up early (as usual) and did all our normal things, plus pick up the house which has been increasing in grossness all week.

Then we snuggled with Daddy until he had to get up to go to the dentist. Only, we didn't get up too. We took an hour long nap. Mmmmm.

We got up again, cleaned the house a bit more, I ate some lunch. Then Josie went down for another nap and I don't remember what I did, probably checked my email and fb, and oh, tried to nap again, only I never fell asleep. Lame. What is the DEAL!

She got up, we hung out and played for a bit (see pic below), walked Logan, bathtime and got ready for bed. Then I tried to put her down....

Now it was someone elses turn to not fall asleep... hmmmm...

So we quit trying, I made myself dinner (oh, frenchtoast...yummm), ate about half and then she got the tiniest bit fussy. I tried to put her to bed again. But there she was, grinning from behind the binky...oh sweet baby...

So we got up and I finished my dinner, and we played. Mostly we laid on our big bed and giggled about something. I have no idea what, but it was hilarious.

It felt like someone just wanted to soak up the very last bit of this very lazy day with her mama.

She is sound asleep now and Tom should be home any minute from his meeting at the church. Then I am going to take a hot shower, drink a cup of herbal tea, read and go to bed. And hopefully sleep until morning. :)

um yum yum yum yummmmm

One thing I love about being a stay at home mom is just hanging out with my little girl. She has become very interested in her surroundings in the last couple weeks, grabbing for any and everything and try to get whatever she can into her mouth. Some of those things include:

a kitchen chair

the dog's ear

tissues

my water glass (which I will let her take a sip of - her face is priceless)

Its too bad I can't hold a glass of water, a squirmy baby AND a camera...

oooooh lamp...yummy....

nothing like sucking on a washcloth...

the picture of her trying to taste her own reflection was REALLY blurry, but I had to include this cuteness

and lest you think we don't feed her enough...we do. She just started with rice cereal last week. She loves it. Well, what she can manage to keep in her mouth...

Josie's Room

I was thinking the other day that some of you havent seen Josie's room, or if you have it was probably a mess from arriving home with a newborn. So, here are a few pics of the nursery...

The crib. The letters above were made by my friend Angelina. The "e" was out of stock for a while, so I am glad I waited to post these - cute, huh?

Our favorite spot.

Snuggling with a baby in the middle of the night is a TREASURE.

Books & toys!

Changer. The little bare-bottomed mouse is there for moral support. :)
