Josie waters the garden.

Mama always forgets to water the garden, so someone else has taken the responsibility upon herself:

Thanks Grammy for the watering can!

A Psalm

I read this again to Josie tonight before bed. Its a paraphrase of Psalm 23 from The Jesus Storybook Bible. Just thought I'd share. It is meant to be read aloud.

God is my Shepherd
And I am his little lamb.

He feeds me
He guides me
He looks after me.
I have everything I need.

Inside, my heart is very quiet.
As quiet as lying still in soft green grass.
In a meadow
By a little stream.

Even when I walk through
the dark, scary, lonely places
I won't be afraid
Because my Shepherd knows where I am.

He is here with me
He keeps me safe
He rescues me

He makes me strong
And brave.

He is getting wonderful things ready for me
Especially for me
Everything I ever dreamed of!

He fills my heart so full of happiness
I can't hold it all inside.

Wherever I go I know
God's Never Stopping
Never Giving Up
Unbreaking
Always and Forever
Love
Will go, too!

My sweet babies...

My heart melts...

(okay, truth: my heart melted only after I forgave them for destroying MY nap)

Toddler Cool.

Not every kid's dad has a cool job... but Josie already knows her's does...

"Josie, where does Daddy work?"

"Daddy work UPSTAIRS!"

Location is everything. :)

10 weeks!

Well, Uriah is 10 weeks old and had a great checkup Wednesday morning.

He is...

12 lbs 15 oz
24" long

and super-duper cute.

He is sleeping better and not crying NEARLY as much. Its wonderful. As are the smiles and coos.

time to make banana bread

I posted this on FB a couple days ago, but thought I would re-post here in case you missed it. And because its pretty awesome.
Typically Josie does just fine while I shower. And this day I left her watching Sesame Street on the computer. When I got out she was heading to the bucket in the kitchen where I through all the napkins and towels to be washed, saying, "Napkin. I'm a mess." Hmmmm, I didn't leave her with anything messy so I smelled her hand...banana...and as I stood up I noticed ALL the bananas were gone. Apparently she got hungry and helped herself. And since peeling is the most fun part anyway...

So later that morning we made banana bread together. And I tried to teach her to crack eggs. I mean, shoot, she's got peeling things down, time to move on to something more challenging, right?

best part of my day...

So, I risk ruining everything by saying this, but it seems we have turned a corner and that there really is light at the end of the tunnel. Last week was probably my hardest yet. The sleep deprivation was really making things hard and Uri was fussy (and by fussy I mean crying non-stop) for most of the evenings making things even more difficult and exhausting. But, things are looking up! He is sleeping in more predictable, and slightly longer stretches and cutting back on the evening cries. And more and more of our days are filled with smiles, coos, and observing his new world. I am much more rested and ready to get into a normal routine. Yay!
